And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Not shod with the gospel, but with the preparation.
And with Ephesians 6:14
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Righteousness is all about striving to know, speak, or learn truth, not the degree to which I'm successful at it.
As I give my best effort, His grace will make up the difference, and I will be blessed with all that I need.
