Daily Ponderings: By Much Prayer and Faith

D&C 26:2

And all things shall be done by common consent in the church, by much prayer and faith, for all things you shall receive by faith. Amen.

I can pray and ask about things I need to do.

Daily Ponderings: This Is My Voice

D&C 25:16

And verily, verily, I say unto you, that this is my voice unto all. Amen.

I should listen for His voice, and do as He invites.

Daily Ponderings: It Shall Be Given Thee

D&C 25:11

And it shall be given thee, also, to make a selection of sacred hymns, as it shall be given thee, which is pleasing unto me, to be had in my church.

He will give me the gifts I need if I ask.

Daily Ponderings: That I May Send My Servant

D&C 25:6

And thou shalt go with him at the time of his going, and be unto him for a scribe, while there is no one to be a scribe for him, that I may send my servant, Oliver Cowdery, whithersoever I will.

I can listen for His guidance.

Daily Ponderings: Thou Art Called

D&C 24:19

For thou art called to prune my vineyard with a mighty pruning, yea, even for the last time; yea, and also all those whom thou hast ordained, and they shall do even according to this pattern. Amen.

He has a good work for me to do, and He will help me do it if I ask.

Daily Ponderings: Except I Shall Command You

D&C 24:13

Require not miracles, except I shall command you, except casting out devils, healing the sick, and against poisonous serpents, and against deadly poisons;

I can do what I want, but I should listen for countermanding orders, and do them when they come.

Daily Ponderings: Thou Shalt Have Strength

D&C 24:7

For thou shalt devote all thy service in Zion; and in this thou shalt have strength.

He can strengthen me to do hard things if I ask for His help.

Daily Ponderings: A Few Words Unto You

D&C 23:5

Behold, I speak a few words unto you, Joseph; for thou also art under no condemnation, and thy calling also is to exhortation, and to strengthen the church; and this is thy duty from henceforth and forever. Amen.

I can keep it simple and do one thing at a time.

Daily Ponderings: Under No Condemnations

D&C 23:3

Behold, I speak unto you, Hyrum, a few words; for thou also art under no condemnation, and thy heart is opened, and thy tongue loosed; and thy calling is to exhortation, and to strengthen the church continually. Wherefore thy duty is unto the church forever, and this because of thy family. Amen.

The criticism I hear in my mind is not from Him.

Daily Ponderings: Enter Ye In

D&C 22:4

Wherefore, enter ye in at the gate, as I have commanded, and seek not to counsel your God. Amen.

I should become a doer of things that need doing.

Daily Ponderings: To Be Built Up Unto Me

D&C 22:3

For it is because of your dead works that I have caused this last covenant and this church to be built up unto me, even as in days of old.

Every day I can strive to become more like Him. He can help me if I ask.

Daily Ponderings: From the Beginning

D&C 22:1

Behold, I say unto you that all old covenants have I caused to be done away in this thing; and this is a new and an everlasting covenant, even that which was from the beginning.

I can do things that work in the long run. He can give me the patience and courage to do them if I ask.

Daily Ponderings: Thus Saith the Lord

D&C 21:12

And the first preacher of this church unto the church, and before the world, yea, before the Gentiles; yea, and thus saith the Lord God, lo, lo! to the Jews also. Amen.

I should listen and hear Him.

Daily Ponderings: With a Mighty Blessing

D&C 21:9

For, behold, I will bless all those who labor in my vineyard with a mighty blessing, and they shall believe on his words, which are given him through me by the Comforter, which manifesteth that Jesus was crucified by sinful men for the sins of the world, yea, for the remission of sins unto the contrite heart.

He wants to give me good thing to make me happy. All I have to do is ask.

Daily Ponderings: Patience and Faith

D&C 21:5

For his word ye shall receive, as if from mine own mouth, in all patience and faith.

I can have faith and be patient. He can help me if I ask

Daily Ponderings: Assisted Always

D&C 20:57

And is to be assisted always, in all his duties in the church, by the deacons, if occasion requires.

If I need help, I can ask.

Daily Ponderings: Endure in Faith

D&C 20:29

And we know that all men must repent and believe on the name of Jesus Christ, and worship the Father in his name, and endure in faith on his name to the end, or they cannot be saved in the kingdom of God.

I can do hard things. He can help me if I ask.

Daily Ponderings: Yea, Come Unto Me

D&C 19:41

Or canst thou be humble and meek, and conduct thyself wisely before me? Yea, come unto me thy Savior. Amen.

I can turn toward Him.

Daily Ponderings: Believe the Gospel

D&C 19:27

Which is my word to the Gentile, that soon it may go to the Jew, of whom the Lamanites are a remnant, that they may believe the gospel, and look not for a Messiah to come who has already come.

I can choose what to believe.

Daily Ponderings: My Almighty Power

D&C 19:14

And it is by my almighty power that you have received them;

He will give me the power to do what I need to do if I ask.
