And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
He can make me worthy if I am willing to let Him
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
If I turn to Him, He can take away my sadness adn fear, and replace them with His peace.
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
To receive glory and honor and power, I need to be worthy to receive them, by being willing to ask His will and do it.
And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
I should soar in the heavens by elevating my spirit with His peace
And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
I should sit by His throne and learn of His peace
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
I should listen for promptings. Having His peace makes that easier.
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
I should give myself full credit for the good that I do.
"...we should be authentic to our real, true selves as sons and daughters of God..."
To our best selves
I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
There is a way for me to find peace and joy, if I ask for His help whenever I need it. Which is all the time.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
I should listen for promptings and do them.
I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
If I am helping others, it means that my opinion of myself is that I have enough and to spare. I am not approaching my life from an angle of need or lack
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
The whole of the gospel is to replace fear with peace. I should ask for His peace to fill me any time I notice its absence
The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
I should seek His help in being right by letting His peace fill me
And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
I should seek to become like unto the Son of Man
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
I should look for His hand in my life
For, behold, I say unto you, that it mattereth not what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink when ye partake of the sacrament, if it so be that ye do it with an eye single to my glory - remembering unto the Father my body which was laid down for you, and my blood which was shed for the remission of your sins.
Think about His power to transform me into who I need to be
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
He has the power to transform me to become more like Him, with peace in every moment, and kindness in every interaction
But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
I should guard carefully which words I choose, and find peace before speaking them.
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
No situation calls for anger, but rather seek the peace that is always at the foundation of every good thing
But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.
First, I should seek peace.

I should take the time to write things down.

I sometimes obsess about what's wrong on the apparent theory that if I make myself feel grumpy enough for long enough, I will be happy.
It's never worked yet.
"...begin your search for happiness by embracing the bounty we have already received from the giver of every good gift."
I don't like it when Joshua complains about what he doesn't have. I should practice being grateful for what I have.
If all you obey is the law of gravity, you will never fly. But if you obey additional laws of lift, thrust, and drag as well as gravity, you will be able to fly.
But if you want to go to the moon, you have to learn to obey even more laws. If you don't, you can still fly, but you'll never make it to the moon.
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
I should follow the rules for becoming more like Him. The first rule is to ask for peace. Peace is at the root of everything He does and should be at the root of everything I do.
And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
I should ask for what I want. And always begin by asking for peace.
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
I should spend my time on the things that matter most. The things that help me become more like Him
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
I know what hearing truth feels like. I can trust that feeling
"[God] never will... give a commandment to His people that is not calculated in its nature to promote that happiness which He has designed..."
I'm afraid to ask for more commandments because I'm afraid of what He'll ask me to do, but everything He asks is for my happiness. [Is that true? Have any of His commandments ever made me miserable?]
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
I should listen to Him and obey the commandments (not a few) that I receive.
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
I should strive to keep Him as my companion at all times
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
I should learn to know and understand His nature so that I become like Him
And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
I should feel for His peace at all times so that I can have the strength to act in kindness.
"I have gone to the House of the Lord with a prayer in my heart for answers. These answers have come in clear and unmistakable ways"
But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
I should allow kindness to flow through me.
