Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
Having a testimony means I have a sure knowledge of something. He has a sure knowledge of everything. As I acquire more knowledge, I become more like Him.
I can acquire knowledge through experience, or through the Holy Ghost testifying to me that what I just heard or thought fits into the entirety of the body of my personal knowledge without contradiction.
If it does contradict something I know, it feels different. Dissonant. Like listening to a piano chord with one note a half-step off, instead of the pure, sweet harmony that testimonial level knowledge presents.
