Talking about voices, my wife mentioned that, while hearing a discouraging voice list her shortcomings in the middle of the night, she said that she realized - and said in her head - "that's not my voice". And that voice of discouragement immediately went silent.
Later, when a discouraging voice started reciting a listing of things I should be irritated by, I realized that wasn't my voice, and said, "Nobody invited you."
Silence.
Actually did that a couple times today.
Satan doesn't like it when we interrupt his party, but there's nothing he can do about it, because he only has the power we give him. When we take it away...
