Daily Ponderings: The Lamanites Did Pursue Them

Mosiah 19:10
And it came to pass that the Lamanites did pursue them, and did overtake them, and began to slay them.

The adversary will pursue. The Lord will defend me, if I ask.

This I Know: Power

His power is mine for the asking.

Daily Ponderings: They Were in Number

Mosiah 18:35
And they were in number about four hundred and fifty souls.

I should let other people help me.

This I Know: Calling

When I work on my calling, I can feel the Spirit strengthen me.

Daily Ponderings: Every Day They Should Give Thanks to the Lord Their God

Mosiah 18:23
And he commanded them that they should observe the sabbath day, and keep it holy, and also every day they should give thanks to the Lord their God.

I should actively look for things to be grateful for.

This I Know: Prayer

Prayer is the fastest, easiest way to fix emotional distress.

The Truth

I have more blessings than I need or deserve

Three Choices

Strengthen
Sustain
Put on back burner

The answer to "where to spend time" is "wherever He asks me to spend it".

The Way Forward

Try praying "but I don't know what to do".

Am I a Set of Opposites?

Joseph Smith described Christ as "the first and the last; he who is risen and he who was slain".

Can I be described as a set of opposites?

I am he who believed nothing. I am he who believed all.

Daily Ponderings: Pour Out Thy Spirit Upon Thy Servant

Mosiah 18:12
And now it came to pass that Alma took Helam, he being one of the first, and went and stood forth in the water, and cried, saying: O Lord, pour out thy Spirit upon thy servant, that he may do this work with holiness of heart.

I need more of the Spirit in my life. I need His peace.

Family Rituals

From the Gottman Institute:
"Family rituals are not just mundane routines; they are the building blocks of a strong familial bond. Whether it's the cherished Sunday brunch tradition, bedtime storytelling, or annual holiday celebrations, these rituals provide a sense of stability, security, and belonging.

No matter what your family looks like... rituals create a predictable rhythm in life, offering comfort and reassurance to every family member...

By engaging in rituals, families establish a sense of belonging and pride in their unique traditions. Family rituals create a tapestry of memories that children carry with them into adulthood, forming the foundation for their own future families."

This I Know: Guidance

I know that if I ask for help to know what to do next, He'll give it to me.

Daily Ponderings: The Truth of His Words

Mosiah 17:20
And now, when aAbinadi had said these words, he fell, having suffered death by fire; yea, having been put to death because he would not deny the commandments of God, having sealed the truth of his words by his bdeath.

I should tell the truth with my words.

This I Know: It Matters

When the Spirit prompts and I follow, I get blessings.
