To Blind the Eyes

From Rulon G. Craven's April 1996 "Temptation":

"To blind the eyes is NOT to see or acknowledge the consequences of our actions. To harden the heart is to IGNORE or not be willing to accept counsel."

This happens when I deliberately choose to shorten the temporal focal length of the gaze of my godliness. This provides the illusion of making the unpleasant consequence disappear. The alternative is to accept that the unpleasant consequence exists on my temporal horizon, and start gathering information and making plans to improve the projected outcome.
