Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
To hold fast the faithful word, I have to live the doctrine I've been taught. I should make my life an example of following the rules for becoming more like Him. Exhort and convince by example, not by words alone.
