For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
Whenever I see the word power in the scriptures, I ask, "the power to do what?" The answer is almost always "to change" or "to transform".
The Holy Ghost's power is to transform faith into knowledge. Normally experience does this, but when experience is not possible, the Spirit's confirmation works the transformation.
