Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
There is a blessing to be had in every act of giving. When the act is completed, I can either have that blessing or I can exclude it from myself because of the hardness of my heart by giving grudgingly and resentfully instead of cheerfully.
