Daily Ponderings: A Good Desire

D&C 7:5

I say unto thee, Peter, this was a good desire; but my beloved has desired that he might do more, or a greater work yet among men than what he has before done.

I can fill my heart with good desires. He can help me to attain them if I ask.

This I Know: Persistence

If I keep at it, I can get what I want.

Daily Ponderings: Thou Desirest This

D&C 7:3

And the Lord said unto me: Verily, verily, I say unto thee, because thou desirest this thou shalt tarry until I come in my glory, and shalt prophesy before nations, kindreds, tongues and people.

I should want things that are good for me.

Believe, Act, Try Again

From David A. Bednar's October 2024 "In the Space of Not Many Years":

"...believing the teachings in the holy scriptures and of the prophets, exercising faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repenting of their sins, and experiencing a mighty change of heart."

Anchoring empowering beliefs, acting on those beliefs, trying again after acting short-sightedly on emotion instead of an empowering belief.

This I Know: Can Do

It's hard. I do it. It's done.

Daily Ponderings: Be Faithful

D&C 6:37

Behold the wounds which pierced my side, and also the prints of the nails in my hands and feet; be faithful, keep my commandments, and ye shall inherit the kingdom of heaven. Amen.

I should embrace empowering beliefs. He can help me do this if I ask.

This I Know: Control

I can notice hijacking early and end it.

Daily Ponderings: I Grant Unto You a Gift, If You Desire of Me

D&C 6:25

And, behold, I grant unto you a gift, if you desire of me, to translate, even as my servant Joseph.

If there's something I want, I can ask Him for it.

This I Know: Possible

I can stop my brain from being hijacked. First step is to recognize it immediately. Then act without hesitation until it becomes habitual.

Daily Ponderings: Thou Wilt Do Good

D&C 6:13

If thou wilt do good, yea, and hold out faithful to the end, thou shalt be saved in the kingdom of God, which is the greatest of all the gifts of God; for there is no gift greater than the gift of salvation.

I should do good things. He will help me know which good things to do if I ask.

Daily Ponderings: Keeping My Commandments

D&C 5:35

And if thou art faithful in keeping my commandments, thou shalt be lifted up at the last day. Amen.

He will tell me what to do. I should do it.

This I Know: Patience

I can be more patient than my mind can hijack.

Daily Ponderings: Again, I Speak Unto You

D&C 5:23

And now, again, I speak unto you, my servant Joseph, concerning the man that desires the witness

If I ask (how) questions, I will get answers.

This I Know: Giving

Giving makes me powerful, strong, and peaceful.

Daily Ponderings: Know of a Surety That These Things Are True

D&C 5:12

Yea, they shall know of a surety that these things are true, for from heaven will I declare it unto them.

I should focus on what I know is true.

This I Know: Love First

When I focus on giving love, my life gets better. Being able to give love means I have power.

Daily Ponderings: It Shall Be Opened

D&C 4:7

Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen.

If something feels closed, it can be opened if I ask for help.

This I Know: Can't Hurt Me

Small, and even large setbacks, are inconsequential. I'm still here.

Daily Ponderings: An Eye Single

D&C 4:5

And faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work.

I can focus on good things. He can help me if I ask.

This I Know: Forward

When it's cold, when I'm tired, I can still move forward slowly.
