I should spread goodness and cheer to those around me. When I find that hard, I can invte His embrace to comfort and strengthen me.

I should pay attention to how I feel and from that choose what changes I need to make in my life to be happy.

Learn, Don't Dwell

Dwelling is the adversary's trick for keeping me stuck when there is nothing holding me in place and I am completely free to move.

And never hath I shewed myself unto man, whom I have created, for never hath man believed in me as thou hast. Seest thou that ye are created after mine own image? Yea, even all men were created in the beginning after mine own image.

I should therefore seek to use my agency to create myself after His substance.

And behold, I prepare you against these things; for how be it, ye cannot cross this great deep save I prepare you against the waves of the sea and the winds which have gone forth and the floods which shall come. Therefore what will ye that I should prepare for you that ye may have light when ye are swallowed up in the depths of the sea?

I need to know what it is I would have Him do before I can ask for His help to do that thing.

Daily Ponderings: For the Space of Three Hours

And it came to pass at the end of the four years that the Lord came again unto the brother of Jared and stood in a cloud and talked with him. And for the space of three hours did the Lord talk with the brother of Jared and chastened him because he remembered not to call upon the name of the Lord.

I should not be afraid to talk to Him as long as it takes to learn what I need to know.

And now I proceed with my record. For behold, it came to pass that the Lord did bring Jared and his brethren forth, even to that great sea which divideth the lands. And as they came to the sea, they pitched their tents; and they called the name of the place Moriancumer. And they dwelt in tents upon the seashore for the space of four years.

Sometimes I must dwell somewhere for a time before I move on to a better destination.

2 Nephi 10:24

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God and not to the will of the devil and the flesh. And remember that after ye are reconciled unto God that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved.

I should seek His will for me (which probably is not as narrow as I fear) and, knowing it, seek to find a way to be happy doing it.

Edify, Uplift, Comfort, Exalt

"Nowhere do we find the Savior doing anything but that which edifies, uplifts, comforts, and exalts the Church."

The church begins with me. I should allow and invite Him to edify, uplift, comfort, and exalt me, so that I may have the strength to do so to others.

Mormon 9:27

O then despise not and wonder not, but hearken unto the words of the Lord and ask the Father in the name of Jesus for what things soever ye shall stand in need. Doubt not, but be believing. And begin as in times of old and come unto the Lord with all your heart and work out your own salvation with fear and trembling before him.

I can invite Him to help me feel saved when I feel broken.

And if there were miracles wrought, then why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being? And behold, I say unto you: He changeth not; if so, he would cease to be God. And he ceaseth not to be God and is a God of miracles.

If I have ever felt His love before, I can do so again.

But behold, my father and I have seen them, and they have ministered unto us.

There have been miracles in my life to which I was not the only witness.

And ye will also know that ye are a remnant of the seed of Jacob. Therefore ye are numbered among the people of the first covenant. And if it so be that ye believe in Christ and are baptized - first with water, then with fire and with the Holy Ghost, following the example of our Savior, according to that which he hath commanded us - it shall be well with you in the day of judgment. Amen.

Every day is the day of judgment, because His rules for happiness always apply. If I am happy, that is a sign that I am living correctly.

Mormon 7:6

And he bringeth to pass the resurrection of the dead, whereby man must be raised to stand before his judgment seat.

Knowing that judgment is coming, I should strive to judge myself and make corrections along the way.

And we also beheld the ten thousand of my people which were led by my son Moroni.

As I behold more truth, He can help me become stronger.

And this is the commandment which I have received. And behold, they shall come forth according to the commandment of the Lord when he shall see fit in his wisdom.

I should be patient as I wait upon the Lord's timing, knowing that it will be best.
