My Time Away From the Light

On the desk in my office is a potted geranium. There is only one window, and it's the only source of sunlight in the room. Every day I turn the plant 1/4 turn so that all the leaves don't grow toward one side of the pot and make it look lopsided.

Today, when I turned it, I was noticing the leaves that were being turned to be farthest away from the window, and I thought "it's their turn to be away from the light." Then I thought "that applies to my life, too."

There are times in my life - hard times, times of trial - where I feel like I'm away from the light. But I know that if I persist in patience and faith, eventually my time in the light will come again.
