3 Nephi 28:14

And it was forbidden them that they should utter; neither was it given unto them power that they could utter the things which they saw and heard;

I can have the power to do the things I need if I ask.

3 Nephi 27:33

And it came to pass that when Jesus had ended these sayings he said unto his disciples: Enter ye in at the strait gate; for strait is the gate, and narrow is the way that leads to life, and few there be that find it; but wide is the gate, and broad the way which leads to death, and many there be that travel therein, until the night cometh, wherein no man can work.

I should do something good. He can help me know what to do if I ask. The key to a better life is askin better questions.

This I Know: Forward

I can keep moving forward, even when it's hard.

Daily Ponderings: All Things Are Written by the Father

3 Nephi 27:26

And behold, all things are written by the Father; therefore out of the books which shall be written shall the world be judged.

Things that are true are from Him. Everything else is a counterfeit of the adversary.

Daily Ponderings: Save It Be

3 Nephi 27:23

Write the things which ye have seen and heard, save it be those which are forbidden.

Sometimes there are exceptions to rules. He can help me know when these apply if I ask.

3 Nephi 27:12

For their works do follow them, for it is because of their works that they are hewn down; therefore remember the things that I have told you.

My works should be good and full of kindness.

But if it be not built upon my gospel, and is built upon the works of men, or upon the works of the devil, verily I say unto you they have joy in their works for a season, and by and by the end cometh, and they are hewn down and cast into the fire, from whence there is no return.

I should speak the truth as kindly as I can.

3 Nephi 26:19

And they taught, and did minister one to another; and they had all things common among them, every man dealing justly, one with another.

My justice should lean toward kindness.

This I Know: Asking

If I ask for what I want, sometimes the answer will be yes. Nothing to lose.

Daily Ponderings: Having Healed All Their Sick

2 Nephi 26:15

And it came to pass that after he had ascended into heaven—the second time that he showed himself unto them, and had gone unto the Father, after having healed all their sick, and their lame, and opened the eyes of their blind and unstopped the ears of the deaf, and even had done all manner of cures among them, and raised a man from the dead, and had shown forth his power unto them, and had ascended unto the Father

If I am struggling, He can help me if I ask.

This I Know: Action

It won't take as much time as I think if I just start.

3 Nephi 26:8

And these things have I written, which are a lesser part of the things which he taught the people; and I have written them to the intent that they may be brought again unto this people, from the Gentiles, according to the words which Jesus hath spoken.

What I write down stays with me and can help empower me.

This I Know: Do It Now

I can default toward action.

Daily Ponderings: Shall Turn the Heart

3 Nephi 25:6

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

I should focus my feelings on things that make me happy.

This I Know: Showing Up

Sometimes just being there is enough.

Daily Ponderings: I Will Send

3 Nephi 25:5

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord;

He knows I need help and will send it if I ask.

This I Know: Focus

I can focus on something better than what's making me sad.

Daily Ponderings: I Shall Do This

3 Nephi 25:3

And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of Hosts.

I can have confidence in my abillity to act more like Him.

Dispel Darkness

"...dispel darkness with the light of truth..."

The truth is, I have power to dispel darkness. All I have to do is ask. No exceptions. It's always possible. Always.

Build the Kingdom of God

From Kim B. Clark's October 2015 "Eyes to See and Ears to Hear":

"...to build the Kingdom of God."

I do this by performing godlike acts. By being kind.

Fear

From Kim B. Clark's October 2015 "Eyes to See and Ears to Hear":

"...and with fear, they believed in Him..."

Fear... is to be set aside. By cutting off the Litany.

Daily Ponderings: Compelled to Be Humble

Alma 32:13

And now, because ye are compelled to be humble blessed are ye; for a man sometimes, if he is compelled to be humble, seeketh repentance; and now surely, whosoever repenteth shall find mercy; and he that findeth mercy and endureth to the end the same shall be saved.

"Compelled to be humble" means to randomly stumble across a pattern interrupt for the emotion which is causing me to be stuck and stagnate. I can also choose an interrupt instead of waiting for one to happen randomly.

This I Know: Guidance

I can get guidance if I ask and listen

Daily Ponderings: Discern Between the Righteous and the Wicked

3 Nephi 24:18

Then shall ye return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

When I know what the right thing to do is, I should choose it and do it.

This I Know: Listen

I can hear instructions if I listen.

Daily Ponderings: What Have We Spoken?

3 Nephi 24:13

Your words have been stout against me, saith the Lord. Yet ye say: What have we spoken against thee?

I should watch carefully the words I speak.

This I Know: Stillness

There is stillness to be found in the midst of chaos.

Daily Ponderings: Return Unto Me, and I Will Return Unto You

3 Nephi 24:7

Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of Hosts. But ye say: Wherein shall we return?

Focus on Him, not on the problem or the darkness.

This I Know: Forward

Even if I'm tired I can keep moving forward.

Daily Ponderings: Jesus Had Expounded All the Scriptures

3 Nephi 23:14

And now it came to pass that when Jesus had expounded all the scriptures in one, which they had written, he commanded them that they should teach the things which he had expounded unto them.

He will bring good ideas to my mind. I should listen and do.

This I Know: Peace in Action

I can feel peace, even while I'm moving forward and making progress.

Daily Ponderings: Was It Not So?

3 Nephi 23:9

Verily I say unto you, I commanded my servant Samuel, the Lamanite, that he should testify unto this people, that at the day that the Father should glorify his name in me that there were many saints who should arise from the dead, and should appear unto many, and should minister unto them. And he said unto them: Was it not so?

I can believe the things I experience for myself.

This I Know: The Establishment of Peace

I can ask for peace the second I wake up, and keep asking until I get it.

Daily Ponderings: Search the Prophets

3 Nephi 23:5

And whosoever will hearken unto my words and repenteth and is baptized, the same shall be saved. Search the prophets, for many there be that testify of these things.

I should adopt empowering beliefs wherever I find them.

This I Know: Promptings

When I keep peace within, I can hear what I need to do next. Peace isn't an accident, it's a choice, which can become a habit.

Daily Ponderings: Every Tongue That Shall Revile

3 Nephi 22:17

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall revile against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

If I notice my tongue reviling, I should seek His help to stop immediately.

This I Know: Quiet

I don't have to say the litany out loud, despite pleas and pressure to the contrary.

Daily Ponderings: Lay Thy Stones With Fair Colors

3 Nephi 22:11

O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted! Behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colors, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.

He wants me to be happy. All I have to do is ask.

This I Know: Help

I can help when asked.

Daily Ponderings: The Lord Hath Called Thee

3 Nephi 22:6

For the Lord hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.

I should listen to what He says when He calls.

This I Know: Forward

As long as I do what I'm supposed to do, I will get the help I need.

Daily Ponderings: I Will Go Before Them

3 Nephi 21:29

And they shall go out from all nations; and they shall not go out in haste, nor go by flight, for I will go before them, saith the Father, and I will be their rearward.

He will prepare my way whenever I seek to do good.

Five Minutes of Foolishness

This I Know: Peace

Peace can be had, even when all around it chaos. I can let the chaos go.

Daily Ponderings: Shall Be Done Away

3 Nephi 21:19

And it shall come to pass that all lyings, and deceivings, and envyings, and strifes, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, shall be done away.

He can help me dismiss the Litany if I ask

This I Know: Help

Rendering aid is progress.

Daily Ponderings: I Will Heal Him

3 Nephi 21:10

But behold, the life of my servant shall be in my hand; therefore they shall not hurt him, although he shall be marred because of them. Yet I will heal him, for I will show unto them that my wisdom is greater than the cunning of the devil.

If I hurt, He will heal me if I ask.

Daily Ponderings: So Merciful

Alma 26:17

Who could have supposed that our God would have been so merciful as to have snatched us from our awful, sinful, and polluted state?

The good life is always within my grasp if I let go of fear, anger, and sadness.

What I Need

He will give me what I need if I give up what I don't need. Mostly I don't need fear, anger, and sadness

This I Know: Strength

I can find strength to move forward, even when I'm tired.

Daily Ponderings: The Land of Their Inheritance

3 Nephi 20:46

Verily, verily, I say unto you, all these things shall surely come, even as the Father hath commanded me. Then shall this covenant which the Father hath covenanted with his people be fulfilled; and then shall Jerusalem be inhabited again with my people, and it shall be the land of their inheritance.

I am entitled to good things. I just need to be willing to do what it takes to receive them. Seeking His peace makes this easier.

This I Know: Peace

Peace can be had if I ask for it until I have it. It's often not one and done.

Daily Ponderings: Shall Believe in Me

3 Nephi 20:31

And they shall believe in me, that I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and shall pray unto the Father in my name.

I should fill my mind with empowering beliefs.

This I Know: Relentless

The Litany is relentless. I can be equally relentless in dismissing it. Not discussing it, not entertaining it - dismissing it.

Daily Ponderings: Be in the Midst of Them

3 Nephi 20:16

Then shall ye, who are a remnant of the house of Jacob, go forth among them; and ye shall be in the midst of them who shall be many; and ye shall be among them as a lion among the beasts of the forest, and as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who, if he goeth through both treadeth down and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.

I should share kindness with others.

This I Know: Remarkably Calm

I can relax even when hard things are ahead of me.

Daily Ponderings: So Great Things As Ye Have Heard

3 Nephi 19:36

Verily I say unto you, there are none of them that have seen so great things as ye have seen; neither have they heard so great things as ye have heard.

He will tell me great things if I listen.

This I Know: Calm

In hectic times, I can be calm. I am the eye of the hurricane.

Daily Ponderings: His Countenance Did Smile Upon Them

3 Nephi 19:25

And it came to pass that Jesus blessed them as they did pray unto him; and his countenance did smile upon them, and the light of his countenance did shine upon them, and behold they were as white as the countenance and also the garments of Jesus; and behold the whiteness thereof did exceed all the whiteness, yea, even there could be nothing upon earth so white as the whiteness thereof.

I should keep light in my countenance. He can help me if I ask.

This I Know: Going Through the Motions

Stumbling forward is still progress.

Daily Ponderings: It Was Given Unto Them What They Should Pray, and They Were Filled With Desire

3 Nephi 19:24

And it came to pass that when Jesus had thus prayed unto the Father, he came unto his disciples, and behold, they did still continue, without ceasing, to pray unto him; and they did not multiply many words, for it was given unto them what they should pray, and they were filled with desire.

When I pray, I should ask for what I want.

Daily Ponderings: Filled With the Holy Ghost

3 Nephi 19:13

And it came to pass when they were all baptized and had come up out of the water, the Holy Ghost did fall upon them, and they were filled with the Holy Ghost and with fire.

I can be, not just happy, but full of happiness, if I don't get in my own way by giving place to the adversary.

This I Know: Rest

Whatever amount of rest I get can be enough.

Daily Ponderings: Ascended Into Heaven

3 Nephi 18:39

And while they were overshadowed he departed from them, and ascended into heaven. And the disciples saw and did bear record that he ascended again into heaven.

I can reach a higher and holier place if I let Him guide me.

This I Know: Responsibilities

I can take care of urgent things first, and I will be able to find time for the rest.

Daily Ponderings: Fulfill Other Commandments

3 Nephi 18:27

Behold verily, verily, I say unto you, I give unto you another commandment, and then I must go unto my Father that I may fulfil other commandments which he hath given me.

I have things to do.

This I Know: Hard Is Not Impossible

It's hard, then I do it, and it's done.

Daily Ponderings: Blessed Are Ye

3 Nephi 18:14

Therefore blessed are ye if ye shall keep my commandments, which the Father hath commanded me that I should give unto you.

He wants to bless my life. All I have to do is let Him.

This I Know: Forgiveness

I can forgive myself for the things I haven't done, then move forward and do them, without shame or condemnation.
